Home Energy Report: How Your Home's Efficiency is Calculated
Last updated
Your home's efficiency is a measure of how well your home maintains its temperature when the weather outside is hot or cold. Factors that may impact your home’s efficiency include insulation, the air-tightness of doors and windows, and window shading.
Your home’s efficiency may change month to month. These changes may reflect improvements that you made to your home. Decreases in your home's efficiency may be caused by something as simple as leaving windows and doors open while heating and cooling systems were running. Some homes will experience seasonal efficiency changes, responding differently in heating and cooling seasons.
