Can I connect my Smart Home Security power base to a dual band network?

The Smart Home Security device can connect to either a dedicated 2.4 ghz or 5.0 ghz network. However it cannot connect to a dual band auto-switching network that broadcasts both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz with the same SSID.
